Tounge being peirced?

when u have yr tounge peirced does it make u talk funny or is it only when u first have it done ?

Yes and its un-sightly, moreover it chips your teeth.

You'll only talk funny while its swollen, and you dont always chop your teeth, make sure the bar is correctly fitting and made of PTFE, or metal with plastic balls on the barbell. That way your teeth will be fine.








Where do some of you get off telling her not to do it, she didnt ask for your opinion on that she asked whether she would talk funny.
Reply:Well When You First Get It Done, It Will Be Hard To Speak At All Because It Is Really Soar For A week Or So. But After That When You Do Start speaking You Will Sound Funny For A While, But Then You Will Get Used to Speaking With It There And It Wont Sound Any Different!
Reply:Yea, you have a hilarious lysp but as the swelling goes away your lysp will get better. After a week your lysp goes away.





I've had mine for 8 years...I don't have a lysp or any speech issues, it just feels awkward if I take it out.





HINTS:


-get plastic beads on your barbell so you can't chip your teeth


-ask your piercer if you can get it pierced further back so it's not as obvious when you talk and so it doesn't rub against your teeth.
Reply:hi i had my tongue piereced and only spoke funny for a few days until i got used to it unfortunately i had to remove it before i had an operation but i would never regret having my tongue pierced good luck
Reply:It Really All Depends On How Much Your Tongue Swells When I Got Mine Done I Didn't Talk Funny At All A Few Of My Friends Did Have Talk Funny Saying Certain Words
Reply:Don't do it,they are not natural and you may regret it later if not sooner! Infection can be a terrible thing!

Reply:I haven't had it done myself but i think that you would have problems saying s's. They don't always look so attractive, hurt and could get infected. I wouldn't. Hope it goes well

Reply:Depending on how quickly you heal, it will stay swollen anywhere from a few days to a week or so. I found putting ice cubes in my mouth and letting them melt helped the swelling go down a lot.





It does take some getting used to, as far as speaking and eating go. After getting it done, just try to make sure when you are eating to be extremely careful not to bite down on the tongue ring or your tongue, as it will be very sore.

Reply:nahh i didnt talk that bad but it hurt for soo long and eating was so bad i couldnt even drink. all worth it though i love it :D x
