Hey beauticians could you please help me, im doing research?

i live in the south, and im wanting to open my own beauty/nail salon. I have looked at rental space its about $1000 dollars a month





What i would like to no, what you think would be best





1. rent space if so how much for a beatitions and or nail tech


2. collect all income and pay staff a fee if so how much for beatitions and or nail tech





in my area a hair cut or style runs $45-60 a pedicure or acrylic nails run $30 'just to name a few prices'

Hey beauticians could you please help me, im doing research?
I'm a hair colorist in NYC, and the way things generally work over here is that your stylists and nail techs would receive a commission based on a percentage of what they book.





For example, if a haircut is $100, you would take %10 off the top as a service fee. That pays for shampoo, product, and assistants. The remaining $90 would then be split 50/50 with your stylist.





That's pretty much how it's been done in every salon I've worked at in Manhattan, though commission levels can vary depending on the salon and the amenities that are provided. In salons that have valets, coat checks, hostesses (just serves drinks and snacks to clients), commissions tend to start out lower because of the high volume of client influx.





It's not fair to pay a set salary if your stylists are generating a lot of cash. The only ones who might want that would be stylists who aren't busy.
