I tried to dy my hair red but it's not even close to red enough....?

Okay. The day before yesterday I tried dying my dark brown hair red like Mary Jane Watson from spiderman. We didn't use the whole bottle only about half. Now it's just light brown and kinda red. Should I try dying it again soon or just wait until the roots grow out so I don't cause too much damage to my hair. I used Garnier Fructis with the avocado oils. I really want dark red hair. But I dunno if I can convince my mom to buy me more dye. Help!

Also would dark red hair even look good on me or is this red just fine?

This is like right after I dyed it. It looks a little more red in the light though. I know I look a little awkward. It was late...

You should have probably used the whole bottle in the first place since your hair is dark brown. The darker your hair the harder it is to get it to a lighter color. I'd just wait for the roots to grow since you don't want damage. You COULD bleach it and then dye it, but if you bleached it, it would take several times, and that causes alot of damage, depending on how healthy your hair is.

Of course, you could go to a salon and see if anyone can re-dye your hair.
